چکیده

DNA/RNA Description According to Entrez Gene, PEA15 maps to NC_000001.10 and spans a region of 10042 bases. PEA15 consists of four exons. Exon 1 and the beginning of exon 2 contain untranslated sequences. The end of exon 2, exon 3, and the beginning of exon 4 contain the coding sequence. Transcription Two transcripts, with lengths of 2,5 and 1,7 kb, have been identified. They are identical except for the length of their 3' UTRs. Pseudogene No pseudogene of PEA15 known.

Phosphoprotein enriched in astrocytes-15 kDa expression inhibits astrocyte migration by a protein kinase C delta-dependent mechanism.

Phosphoprotein enriched in astrocytes-15 kDa (PEA-15), a phosphoprotein enriched in astrocytes, inhibits both apoptosis and proliferation in normal and cancerous cells. Here, analysis of PEA-15 expression in glioblastoma organotypic cultures revealed low levels of PEA-15 in tumor cells migrating away from the explants, regardless of the expression levels in the originating explants. Because gli...

Adenoviral Gene Transfer of PLD1-D4 Enhances Insulin Sensitivity in Mice by Disrupting Phospholipase D1 Interaction with PED/PEA-15

Over-expression of phosphoprotein enriched in diabetes/phosphoprotein enriched in astrocytes (PED/PEA-15) causes insulin resistance by interacting with the D4 domain of phospholipase D1 (PLD1). Indeed, the disruption of this association restores insulin sensitivity in cultured cells over-expressing PED/PEA-15. Whether the displacement of PLD1 from PED/PEA-15 improves insulin sensitivity in vivo...

Phosphoprotein Enriched in Astrocytes 15 kDa (PEA-15) Reprograms Growth Factor Signaling by Inhibiting Threonine Phosphorylation of Fibroblast Receptor Substrate 2α

Changes in cellular expression of phosphoprotein enriched in astrocytes of 15 kDa (PEA-15) are linked to insulin resistance, tumor cell invasion, and cellular senescence; these changes alter the activation of the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)1/2 mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase pathway. Here, we define the mechanism whereby increased PEA-15 expression promotes and sustains E...

Phosphorylation of phosphoprotein enriched in astrocytes (PEA-15) regulates extracellular signal-regulated kinase-dependent transcription and cell proliferation.

Cell cycle progression is dependent on the nuclear localization and transcriptional effects of activated extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)1 and ERK2 mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinases (ERK1/2). Phosphoprotein enriched in astrocytes (PEA-15) binds ERK1/2 and inhibits their nuclear localization, thus blocking cell proliferation. Here, we report that phosphorylation of PEA-15 blocks...
